Description

A portable introductory workshop where participants learn basic plant anatomy, identify a viable node, prepare a cutting, and set up a glass propagation vessel so they can watch roots form over time.

Primary Learning Outcome

Understand what makes a viable cutting, where new roots originate, and how to set up and maintain a simple propagation environment in glass.

Skills Taught

Taking Cuttings, Node Identification, Propagation Setup

Take-Home Project

One prepared plant cutting in a small glass propagation vessel, plus simple guidance for observing root development and transitioning the cutting later.

Plant Material

Easy, reliable propagation stock from an approved Flora Cantina genus, with visible nodes and strong rooting behavior. Exact teaching plant will be selected during development based on propagation speed, node clarity, audience, and availability.

Space Requirements

Highly portable. Needs a table, prepared mother/teaching plant material, sanitized cutting tools, small glass propagation vessels, water, labels, and light cleanup supplies. Suitable for coffee shops, schools, private events, and small pop-ups.

Notes / Pilot Learnings

Keep version 1 tightly standardized: one plant option, one glass-pot size, and a limited component menu. Participants make meaningful functional choices without creating fully custom recipes. Target a 60–75 minute format that one facilitator can run for about six people.
